CommentsHow do right so many words??
HOW?!?! Thank you~ In all honesty, I have no idea how these stories connect with each other! I think ~asdfwaffles came up with the idea of Cole biting Lloyd, so I may use that (it would be accidental, of course). So like father like son? Yeah, Lloyd is pretty calm and focused. It's Cole and InZane that are the crazy ones! The next bust will be of Nya, and I imagine her her to be pretty shiny, so I can practice then~ Thanks again, and to you too! |
Now we are on to Lloyd; son of the dark lord; Garmadon. I noticed that you've incorporated the visual elements of Garmadon's evil self into the new Lloyd's design. Even though his skin and eyes haven't turned pure-black yet, I can imagine that it won't be long.
The grim glare emphasizes the bitterness within Lloyd, and the red eyes show that he's following in his father's footsteps. The lowered eyebrows, eyelids, and larger pupils suggest a calmness to his rage; as if his new evil persona took over the good without any struggle.
In terms of his clothes and style, the neat hair, trimmed eyebrows, and tailored overcoat give me the impression that this villain isn't your average crazy guy. He puts the effort and dignity into a well thought-out plan of destruction and chaos. After all; it takes organization to properly complete the task (of doom).
I know that purple tends to be a darker colour, but I find it slightly difficult to distinguish his hair from the background. I would suggest adding a lighter glow behind his head (like your Kai bust), or some highlights/sheen to his hair. The hair might be the way to go, seeing as his face receives a good amount of light. Some contrast would be helpful, but I can still tell what's going on, so it's not that big a deal.
There was a problem I noticed with the teeth on your Kai bust, but I see that you've located and eliminated it within this drawing (it was just the shadows. It looked like Kai's teeth was above his mouth).
Comparing your first bust to this shows a great deal of improvement; along with a better light source, and finer detail, you're definitely getting better by the brush-stroke!
Keep up the great work, and hopefully we'll see more amazing artwork!
